The Austin Healey 3000 is the most famous model of the British car manufacturer. Jensen designed its characteristic and wonderful lines and it was built on the same production line in Abington, England as the various models of MG at that time. From the very beginning the Austin Healey 3000 was popular in the rally sport. Thanks to amongst other features its low weight, the short wheelbase and its excellent balance the car scored high in various rallies and races.

This car offered for sale at Brooks Classics is an Austin Healey 3000 MK I and was built in 1960. The car has gone through a complete body-off restoration and was then prepared for rallies to the highest standards. Absolutely everything has been done to ensure that the car performs as good as possible during the most beautiful rides in Europe. The car has always had top-class service at Van Laar Classics in Tiel. No costs or efforts were spared and everything was constantly adjusted to perfection to maximise driving performance. And what a drive it is!

It is really fantastic how this Healey can be positioned on the road. Due to the new Denis Welch rally steering box with a collapsible steering column steering is direct and subtle. Apart from that, the car is fitted with adjustable shock absorbers and can therefore be perfectly tuned for any surface. Its engine is no longer standard either. It has been tuned to a capacity of 3.2 litres by using new Volvo pistons and the 3 twin Weber carburettors with metal racing filters provide an extra power increase. The newly placed G-trac 5-speed gearbox adds to the perfect shifting sensation.

The car’s balance is absolutely perfect. The powerful and superfast engine, the balanced and extremely sporty steering, the superbly balanced frame and the complete driving experience make this Austin Healey 3000 MK I the best rally prepared Healey currently on the market. The car has always had top service and is ready to go. All service invoices are available. The amount of money spent to get this car into this excellent condition and to maintain it is amazing.
