Brooklyn Antiques
Brooklyn Antiques is a gallery with a purpose; a treasure of the unexpected.
The gallery is located in the authentic coach house of the Vrede en Rust country estate, located in Breukelen on the river Vecht. For several years now, the country estate has housed a beautiful bed & breakfast, called Logement aan de Vecht.

Brooklyn Antiques
“Where authenticity, history and character come together”
When you think of antiques, you often think of dusty display cabinets and heavy furniture. But as soon as the conversation turns to a vintage watch or an old Louis Vuitton suitcase, attention is focused. Brooklyn Antique is all about that feeling – the moment when history suddenly becomes personal.
Brooklyn Antiques is not your average store, but a place for those looking for character, quality and history. And for those who understand: some things can no longer be made today - and certainly not copied.
Reinier Brummelkamp
Founded by Reinier Brummelkamp, known from the SBS6 program Cash or Trash, Brooklyn Antique has been a trusted address for those looking for authentic pieces with a soul for over 15 years. The store is located in the characteristic coach house of the country estate Vrede en Rust, right next to the popular bed & breakfast Logement aan de Vecht - a place where style, tranquility and history meet.
Every find at Brooklyn is carefully chosen. Not because it fits a trend, but because it tells something. Because that is the golden rule according to Reinier: “It doesn’t matter what you collect, as long as it’s real. Something with a story, a past. And it has to suit you.”
The collection consists of unique objects from times gone by: from a Louis Vuitton House Porte Habits travel bag to a robust American filing cabinet from 1900 or a rare Van Berkel cutting machine from the roaring twenties. Pieces that are just as relevant today as they were a hundred years ago – and will still find their place in a contemporary interior fifty years from now.
Brooklyn is about more than just antiques. It’s about appreciating craftsmanship, understanding materials, and recognizing the love that went into making something. A well-veneered panel, a delicate piece of carving, the balance of functionality and beauty — these are the details that make an object timeless.

Een van zijn recente trotsen? Een prachtig schaalmodel van een rijtuig met brandweerspuit, in uitzonderlijk goede staat. “It is an exact copy of a large original, but dining table size. Incredibly detailed and truly a work of art in itself.“

The Brummelkamp Collection
Where tradition, technology and collecting passion come together
The Brummelkamp Collection originated from a youthful fascination with collecting. What once started with small finds as a child, has now grown into a leading private collection of international allure.
The core of the collection consists of authentic sports carriages from only the best-known and most respected brands. Each piece is carefully selected for originality, origin and historical value. The love for the Dutch harness horse, matching original harnesses and the heritage of harnessed driving form the common thread.
In addition, the collection reflects a deep passion for technology. This is reflected in a unique collection of steam engines, refined miniatures, an impressive range of Land Rovers up to and including the iconic Series II, and a special fleet of authentic ships – all sailing under the status of monumental heritage. These ships are not only historically valuable, but are actively kept in service and cherished as living cultural property.
The Brummelkamp Collection is more than a collection — it is a living archive of craftsmanship, history and personal dedication. Each acquisition tells a story, and together they are a tribute to quality, design and character.
